PlayTime is a small illustrated encyclopedia, not a data business. There are no ads in the app, no ad companies behind it, and nothing about you is ever sold or used to follow you around the internet. This page says exactly what we keep, why, and how to take it all back.
What we keep, and why
- Your email address. It is your sign-in. If you use Apple or Google to sign in, we receive the email they share and nothing more.
- Your journal. The chapters you have read, the questions you have played, the stickers and editions you have earned, and any commissions you have asked the bindery for. This syncs so your shelf can follow you onto a new phone.
- How sessions go. Small notes such as when a session ends and how a play went. We use them to keep the book working well. There is no third-party analytics company involved.
- Reclaimed time, roughly. If you set up the Clearing on iPhone, your phone estimates the scrolling time you take back and stores it as coarse day totals. These are about-numbers, never minute-by-minute logs. The list of apps you choose to quiet never leaves your phone.
What we never collect
Your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, health information, or any advertising identifier. The app does not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.
The bindery and your requests
When you commission a volume, the topic you asked for and the leans you picked are sent to Anthropic's API so the volume can be written. Your name, email and account details are not part of that request. The finished volume is stored for your shelf.
Who holds the data
Our database, sign-in and storage run on Supabase, which hosts the data on our behalf and does not use it for anything else. Everything travels encrypted.
Children
PlayTime is written for teens and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Taking it all back
Open the Study inside the app and choose Delete my account. The account and everything stored with it are removed from our servers. If you would rather not reinstall the app just to do this, this page explains how to ask by email.
Questions
Write to jain.samvit@gmail.com and a person will answer. If this policy ever changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change applies.
